Coach Cammie

It sunk in how much I miss coaching with Cammie as we scrimmaged tonight at the end of practice.
For the first time this season, my voice wasn’t the lone shriek from the sidelines. It was growing dark and Cammie pranced up and down the field (you know how she runs with her toes pointed on each step? Like she’s floating) belting out encouragement: “Sticks up and ready for the draw, fight for it! Daysha, see Tiara! Man-on Celine, Nice hustle Natiki!”
They were completely captivated by Cam; she’d only just met them and they were already her girls.

By popular demand* a gratuitous cat photo to start your weekend off properly. This was taken two years ago in spring when Uncle Floyd came to visit East Seventh Street. I think Wily Mo looks particularly fox-like here (Winky!) and Floyd looks… white and fluffy.

around a video if anybody's interested. Any takers????

This is a gem

Noodling around in my email archives & came across this gem- an apparently unsolicited email from Casey.
Casey is the #1 best emailer in the history of the world.

Drafting emails is my single most identifiable hobby these days. In the past I collected baseball cards, played Nintendo, read endlessly, and practiced golf compulsively. All these activities have taken a back seat to my current ritual on the computer. Granted, when you're in the office all day there’s a limited selection of activities that can disguise your unwillingness to work. You can’t fall asleep at your desk, read a book cover to cover, or take lunch three times a day without feeling just a little bit awkward. Incidentally, I have witnessed all these offenses and the offenders eventually face various persecutions for their actions. At the office professional behavior is the norm and reputation is paramount. As a subordinate you are often expected to be working even when there is no work to be done. Your procrastination must be inconspicuous, brisk, and resemble actual production. Thus, the random email is the most sensible way to slack off on the job.

I'd also like to publicly call out Cammie for doing one of the more notable freakout, peace outs that I've seen in a while on St. Patty's day.

You didn't SEE it! You weren't there.

IT was a somewhat awkward party in the early hours of the day… it was beautiful outside, and I wanted to go watch the parade. I hung out for a couple of hours, then walked to Broadway – fully intending to return to Ticknor. One thing lead to another, and I found myself sprawled out on my couch eating a pint of Chicken Lo-Mein (leftovers from the night before) – understandably, that was the perfect lead-in to a 6-hour nap … at which point I was reluctantly awoken by multiple telephone calls that I needed to get myself over there. I mobilized …

Now sober and groggy & made the attempt – drove over to the east side – searched for decent parking – drove down Ticknor and took a sidelong glance at the festivities occurring on the first floor of #22.
S H A D Y. Is all I have to say. Lights dimmed if not completely off, at least 7 – 10 people dancing on the coffee table, music pumping out mad beats, squeals of laughter and enjoyment.
That sealed it for me. I could NOT go in there in my present state; I would have been horrified and would have felt completely awkward. I'm bummed I missed it, but sometimes you gotta weigh your options and make a decision – (I'm not saying there aren't opportunity costs involved) Quite sure I made the right one.

Dooley

Park City in February.

Niles pampered us with impeccable breakfasts, Owen and Andrew skiied to the point of near coma, and Cam & I enjoyed the master suite at the condo. We lived the dream with our side by side sinks, plotting color-coordinated ski outfits ("shouldn't I wait and wear the fur trimmed vest on the day we ski Deer Valley?") and listening to the same playlist on repeat for eight days straight.

As always after vacation, acclimating to life in the real world was tough.

Hey guys,
Anyone else feeling top notch today (sarcasm)? My legs actually hurt...maybe from not skiing?
So, I can't take this real world stuff. I sold the Audi and bought a ride (attached) that can accommodate my chosen lifestyle. I'm heading out west at the end of next week (yes, I've submitted my 2 week notice). All I want to know is, who's coming with me?

-Doolie
P.S. - How do you spell my name? Technically, it should be Dually, right?

RE: Not Well...Mentally
Technically (or at least it would appear via google search) it should be “Dually”. But I think we all agree that “Doolie” feels more real… more… natural.
I thought that this (picture attached) was the ride that accommodated your lifestyle. No?

I think this is more appropriate in terms of accurately representing my chosen lifestyle.

This is something I would have preferred to write on your wall... and I probably would have given you some sort of silly gift to go along with my well-wishes. Do you think you'll ever reactivate your wall? I wish you'd reconsider.

I was thinking a little more on this topic...The news was saying that this happens only once every thousand years ... but, unless my math is wrong, the next one will be in just over 5 years... 04/04/16 then again 05/05/25 then 06/06/36 then 07/07/49then 08/08/64then 09/09/81I guest THEN we'll have to wait a while for the next one...01/01/3001 - you and I probably won't be around anymore.Anyways... Hope you're having a swell day.

Here's a nice photo of our girl:
